Last weekend we saw Sepp Straka throw up a 9 under 62 in the fourth round of the John Deere Classic to secure his second win on the PGA Tour. Again I had outright bets finish inside the top five, which were foiled by Straka’s unbelievable effort on Sunday.

The John Deere Classic has one of the weakest fields annually, and is played on one of the easiest courses the player will play all season. I find this combination makes these round by round bets tougher to hit, as the course is less demanding on the players, which can elevate the play of the weaker players in the field.

What a great weekend at the Travelers Championship, we saw Keegan Bradley run away with the event early, but I managed to cash three of my four placement bets, and all three 3-Ball bets that I placed. This week the tour shifts to Michigan for the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club, this should be another birdiefest, let’s break this course down and then we’ll get to the picks for the weekend.

Congratulations Nick Taylor for keeping the Canadian Open trophy on home soil, what a battle with Tommy Fleetwood in the playoff. Could have been a huge week for me if Fleetwood would have taken advantage of one of his many chances on 18 and in the playoff, but I’ll settle for a sweep of my placement picks, with all of my outright picks finishing in the top 10. Perfect time to heat up as we head out west for the US Open, let’s talk about what we are going to see this weekend.
