The Cincinnati Reds are in the midst of a 10 game win streak, and currently hold the top spot in the NL East. Tonight they will look to extend this streak to 11 games, in the final game of a three game set against the Colorado Rockies.

Tonight, the Reds young southpaw Andrew Abbott will be tasked with trying to extend this streak, which may be exactly who the Reds want on the mound in this situation. Since being called up to the big leagues in early May Abbott has made three starts for this Reds team and has yet to give up a run through 17.2 innings.

Some may question if the rookie has been feasting on bottom tier offences, but that is far from the case, as these starts have come against the Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Now obviously this kid isn't going to throw shutout baseball forever, and the regression will set in at some point, but through these first three starts opponents only have a .220 xBA and a .396 xSLG and the Rockies rank dead last in wRC+ vs left handed pitching this season. I don't think that regression will happen tonight.

On top of that the Rockies rank No. 25 in team batting average, and No. 29 in xSLG against left handed pitching. The one area where Abbott has got himself in trouble has been walking batters, but the Rockies have the fifth lowest walk rate against southpaw's, I think they're going to struggle with this guy.
