The NHL gods, in their infinite wisdom, blessed us with nearly an entire working week (minus Friday) of less than 10 games per night. Don't get me wrong, I love hockey, but 14 games? Too many. 3 games? Not enough. We get 9 games tonight and that feels just right.

Without further ado, here are three props I feel particularly good about, two of which happen to be in the same game.

Oettinger OVER 2.5 Goals Against

There's something rotten along I-35. Lately Oettinger just hasn't seemed as unbeatable, he's seemed almost human. He has given up 3+ goals in each of his last 3 games. The Stars as a club have given up 3+ goals in 8 of their last 13, including 3 of their last 4 home games. I'm a big believer in the notion that goals against are more a reflection of the 5 guys skating up and down the ice then they are of the netminder. You can put the lab-created hybrid of Brodeur, Hasek, and Roy in net and if the team in front of them lacks on the defensive front, they are going to give up goals. Toronto comes to Dallas tonight having scored 3+ in 5 straight games and hitting that mark in 10 of 13 road tilts. This is being billed as a can't-miss meeting between the Maple Leafs and their tandem MVP Matthews & point-scoring machine Marner vs the Stars and their Filipino phenom Jason Robertson. If you think Mattews & co. won't be gunning a bit harder tonight, I don't know what to tell you. I like Dallas to win this game, but I think along the way Oettinger gives up at least 3 goals.

Marner OVER 2.5 Shots on Goal

IDK what to tell you, I just really like Mitch Marner. I'm not sure why - it might be because he went to a Big Ten school. Regardless, I think he's going to have himself a game tonight vs Dallas. Mr. Marner has 3+ SOG in 4 straight games and 6 of his last 9 road games. He is averaging 7+ shot attempts overall of late (6+ on the road) and while he did not hit in their previous meeting this season, he did hit in both encounters last season. Dallas is a tough nut to crack on home ice and Toronto doesn't necessarily shoot a ton on the road, but Marner has shown he can get it done and the increase in his shot volume in recent games has been promising.

Stamkos OVER 0.5 Assists

I've never much liked the Lightning. A child of the upper Midwest, their team colors for whatever reason always just make me think of those cake-eater Hawks from the first Mighty Ducks movie, a more accurate representative of the Twin Cities suburbs has never been captured on screen.

I digress, while I never much cared for the team, their players have grown on me in recent years, particularly the top duo of Kucherov and Stamkos. Tonight, my focus is on Stamkos, who has been a bit of an assist machine recently. Steven has an apple in 11 of his last 15 games, he has recorded an assist in 9 of his last 10 home games, and he assisted on goals in 3 of his last 4 meetings with the Detroit Red Wings. With Tampa averaging 4 goals per game on home ice and the Red Wings averaging 3.5 goals against per game (top 30-40% of the league) out on the road, I like the Lightning to score tonight and I like Stamkos to be involved.

That's all from me today, plenty of great looks out there tonight, these are just the plays that stood out to me the most. Whatever you end up betting, I hope we all cash this evening. Best of luck.
