There are five games on the NHL slate, two of which happening out in California that I like a total in, one over and an under, I am going to breakdown both angles here, let's get into it.

Vancouver Canucks @ San Jose Sharks - Over 6.5 Total Goals (-104) @ NorthStar Bets

Both of these teams have been playing high scoring games recently, both being 7-3 to the over, over their last 10 games. The Vancouver Canucks have scored four or more goals in five straight games, and the San Jose Sharks have given up five or more goals in three of their last five games.

Last season these two teams covered this 6.5 total in two of three games last season, with those three games averaging 7.33 goals per game. The Canucks have won four of their last five games, and this game against the Sharks will close out a three game road trip. It's possible this is a bit of a let down spot for the Canucks, at the end of the road trip after beating the Avalanche and Golden Knights, but San Jose has been bad at home, and are giving up 3.62 goals per 60 at home.

Even through this hot stretch, the Canucks have given up three or more goals in three of the last five games, and the Sharks are averaging 3.54 goals per 60 over their last 10 games. Both of these teams have strong powerplay units, that can capitalize on limited chances.

The two points I'll close with are, the Sharks are 8-1-1 to the over in their last 10 games against Western Conference Opponents, and the Canucks are 9-2 to the over in their last 11 games on the road, I lean Sharks in this one, but the Canucks have been one of the hottest offences in the NHL recently, I think we're gonna see goals in this one.

Ottawa Senators @ Los Angeles Kings - Under 6.5 Total Goals (-110) @ ProLine+

The Ottawa Senators will be on the road tonight to close out a four game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings, they have gone under the game total in seven straight games, and should have their defensive core stabilized with the return of Thomas Chabot, who logs a ton of minutes for the Senators.

On the other hand, the Kings are 5-5 to the over in their last 10 games, but they are 5-2 to the under in games with a total set at 6.5 in their last 10. The Kings have  have struggled at times defensively this season, but have been good dominating the play, and are only allowing 2.86 goals per game over their last 10.

An interesting historical point, dating back to 2016, these two teams these two franchises have not had a total set at 6.5, and have only had one game of these ten historical matchups that would have gone over this 6.5 total.

The Senators have been allowing a ton of shots this season, but both teams have struggled to capitalize on their high danger chances at five on five. The Senators attempt to play a physical game and slow the tempo down, I think the Kings still excel in these games, dominating the puck battles, and shot opportunities.

The Kings are 1-3 over their last four games, and only got out shot in one of those four games, and it was actually the game they won. The Senators either explode or don't, but they have only scored 1 in three games straight before matching up with the Ducks, who anybody can score against.

Both of these offences have been very inconsistent, I lean Kings, but this line being at -150 is a little steep for me personally. This game might see some higher shot totals, but I don't think we see a ton of high danger chances. I expect a slower pace game here, as the Senators are closing out this west coast road trip.
