With Thanksgiving firmly in the rearview except for the leftovers and the Christmas tree decorated, this afternoon was the perfect time to settle in with a hot beverage and some holiday tunes and find those winning plays that will make Christmas just a bit merrier.

We had some good success the other night just focusing in on two top props vs a bigger parlay, so tonight I humbly submit to you my top two player props for tonight's NHL action:

Hughes OVER 3.5 Shots on Goal

With 4+ shots on goal in 6 of his last 8 games and 8 of 11 home games, Hughes is hard to deny on home ice so far this season. With the Devils averaging 34+ shots on goal per game at home and the Capitals giving up 34+ shots on the road, he is in prime position to get shots off this evening, currently averaging 5.6 shot attempts per game. While he struggled to hit vs Washington last season, Hughes did hit the over when these two teams played earlier in the season.

Robertson OVER 3.5 Shots on Goal

The man of the hour, Robertson is making a name for himself as the next phenom in NHL hockey. With 4+ shots on goal in 10 of his last 13 games and 4 of 5 road games, Robertson is averaging 10+ attempts per game in recent play and faces off with a Colorado squad tonight that has proven soft to shots from the Left-Wing position so far this season. Though his attempts dip to a still remarkable 7.8 per game on the road, he has shown he is capable of getting it done wherever he plays, and the Stars will be looking to make a statement tonight against the reigning Stanley Cup champions.

Those are my top two picks for tonight's action - plenty of other great spots out there for us all to make a bit of spending money. Whatever you end up playing, I hope it is a successful night for us all.
