We are back gang, and on our revenge tour. After losing yesterday's Mountcastle play, we decide to move to the National League to find our first winner of the week. Our Pine Prop of the Day is Paul Goldschmidt over 1.5 TB -115

Game Two of this Cardinals Braves Series looks to be full of action, as the books has the over at 10 runs. One of the main reasons is how lethal Paul Goldschmidt has been at the middle of this order. Goldschmidt has been on a tear this year rocking a .340 average, .620 slugging and a 1.042 OPS. One of the main reasons is his launch angle, in 2020 we saw Goldy with a 24% flyball rate. This season we are seeing a 32% flyball rate along with a 23% Line drive rate. He ranks amongst league leaders in Hard hit percentage (47%) and barrel percentage 12.2%.

Matchup: The reason I love this spot even more is because Goldschmidt is facing off against Ian Anderson. Anderson has struggled at home this season, as well as with right handed batters. At home his ERA is 6.92 and against RHB .308 batting average to go along with a .517 slugging percentage. Anderson also relies heavily on his Changeup/FB combo to get batters out, a combo that makes up 78% of his pitch mix. Goldschmidt absolutely crushes changeups. He has a 50% hard hit rate against them, a .346 batting average AND a .731 slugging percentage. The 4 seamer too has been a pitch that Goldy's Barrel has found quite a bit,  .302 batting average and 46.1% hard hit rate. Humid weather, with a guy who hits the ball hard in the air often and crushes most of the offerings of the opposing pitcher. Sign me up for Goldschmidt to crush the ball in Suntrust Park.
