Pick #9: Cardinals First 5 Team Total over 1.5 runs (-140) DK

If you are betting against the Brewers you better hit their starters.  Even without Hader right now their bullpen is strong and unlikely to blow a lead or surrender a lot of runs.   Today Houser faced a St Louis team that got a much needed win yesterday and looks to follow it up this afternoon.

Houser is a good pitcher but has been much better at home so far this season with an ERA sub 2 at home and over 4 on the road. He also has been nearly unhittable at night with an ERA below 1 compared to nearly 6 during the day time which is when the Cards will get to face him.   The start time is 1:05 local so shadows will not be an issue and the Cards have a fast lineup in (minus Yadi) to take advantage of Houser being easy to steal off.  The Cardinals are towards the top of the league in the steals and I expect them to put runners in motion early and often to try to manufacture runs.  At 1.5 even and bloop and a blast can get us there.

The Cards only got him for 1 run in 5 2/3 the first time they faced him but that was the second start of the year, in Milwaukee and at night.  I expect a slightly better result this time and two runs off the starter seems more than likely especially at the relatively low juice.
