Pick #8: Alex Verdugo Under 1.5 Bases (-180)
Its the battle of the Sox and I am fading Verdugo in this spot. He has the capability of hitting this but has recently slipped into a slump. He hasn't had 2 or more bases in the past 11 games and I don't think he does today either. He is facing Velasquez who has had Verdugo's number in the past and who he is hitless against. He has struck out or walked in .666 % of the time. Even if the Red Sox do get to the bullpen, Verdugo hasn't done well there either only having success against Bummer. Hopefully La Russia has done his homework and we don't see them go against each other. I will stick with the under and at 1.5, there is a little room for error.
I also like Jackie Bradley Jr Over 0.5 Bases (-135)
Bradley hasn't been particularly lighting it up but he does have a 3 game hit streak going with multiple hits in 2 of them. I like this spot for him to get at least one hit today. Where as Velasquez has had Verdugo's number, the same can't be said for Bradley. They don't have a particularly large history being only seeing each other 3 times, but in all of Bradley's AB against Velasquez, he has got a hit with 1 double batting 1.000 and a 1.333 SLG %. Hopefully Bradley stays in his groove for at least one more game.
