I have gotten off to a nice start to the year in the MLB and in April we wrapped up with a record of 23-11-1 +8.83u, and I am looking to continue that run into May.

I've got a couple of picks on the diamond today on top of what I have already released for the NHL Playoffs.

Play #1: Houston Astros Moneyline -150 vs Seattle Mariners - Bet365

Something I am learning in the MLB, sometimes it is okay to eat the juice. The Astros have gotten off to a rocky start this season going 11-11 overall.

They have started to turn it around recently, they just lost 2 of 3 against the Toronto Blue Jays but both losses were by one run, and they scored 11 runs in the win, prior to the Toronto series they had won 3 straight games against the Texas Rangers, and are coming off of a 3-0 win in the opening game of this series against the Mariners.

The Mariners are sending Lefty Chris Flexen to the mound tonight against the Astros. Houston has a handful of guys who have had success in past plate appearances against Flexen. As opposed to the Mariners who will have to face Christian Javier, who they have seen very little of and have had little to no success against.

I think this Houston team is due to go on a little bit of a run here, and the Mariners will be without one of their best hitters in Mitch Haniger.

The Astros base numbers against Lefties don't look that good this season, but when you dig a little deeper you can find that they rank 5th in Hard Hit% and 14th in Line Drive%. I think their timing has been just slightly off to start the season, and they have gotten unlucky because they are hitting the ball hard.

Eventually, you will get rewarded for hitting the ball hard, I like the Astros to take game 2 of this 3-game series tonight.

Play #2: San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Dodgers UNDER 3.5 F5 -125 - Bet365

The Giants and Dodgers will be opening up the first game of a 3 game set tonight in Los Angeles. Both teams will be sending lefties to the mound, for the Giants it will be Carlos Rondon who has been lights out to start the season and for the Dodgers, it will be Julio Urias who has been very good as well to start 2022.

So far this season the Dodgers have been under machines, they are 14-6-1 to the under and the Giants are 11-10-1 to the under. This game has a low total set at 6.5 and I don't always trust bullpens to keep these totals low,

Rondon has been dealing though to start the season. He is 3rd in the MLB in Strikeout% striking out 44.7% of the batters he has faced and the Dodgers have the 12th highest Strikeout% this season against LHP.

I also expect Urias to be able to do his job and quiet the bats of the Giants lineup. The Giants have the 11th highest Strikeout% vs LHP this season.

In a matchup between two phenomenal pitchers against two offenses who strike out a fair amount against lefties, sounds like the recipe to an under if you ask me.
