Back-to-backs in the NHL require an extra layer of research, and when looking at Pittsburgh, there's a clear SOG prop target.

When I see a team in a favorable spot playing on a back-to-back (B2B), I do instinctually get nervous.

I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity that Pine brings when looking at how teams have fared on days with no rest.

Pittsburgh: Team Shots on Goal (B2Bs)

The Penguins have played in eight B2Bs this year, and I see a steady stream of shots from the team, removing any concern about playing tired.

The above shows that Pittsburgh has shot over 30 shots on goal as a team in five of these games, meaning there is value to be found tonight.

If you've been betting on SOG props this year, you likely know that Buffalo is a good nightly target.

Buffalo: Shots Allowed Last Month

They had one dip there and immediately got back to allowing 32+ shots on goal.

My target tonight is a former Sabre, Evan Rodrigues.

I went back and looked at every Pittsburgh skater this season and how they've fared on B2Bs, and Rodrigues has been the most consistent and offers the biggest disparity between his average and his line tonight.

In eight B2Bs, Rodrigues is averaging 3.75 SOG per game, going over his 2.5 line five times.

Prior to his 2 SOGs last night, Rodrigues had covered this prop in five straight games.

He's also played his former team twice this season, finishing with 4 and 9 SOG.

Add it all up, and I love his over tonight, and we get it at plus-money.

Betting 1u: Evan Rodrigues over 2.5 SOG (+110 DK)
