A struggling Barcelona plays Real Madrid today for the Supercup semi finals in a neutral location. Real Madrid has undoubtably been the best team in Spain this season and has cruised past every big team that they faced in the league like Barcelona itself, Atletico and Sevilla.
Barcelona has 3 wins and 2 draws from the last 5 games. However those wins are very narrow against some of the worst teams of the league like Elche and Mallorca and a 3rd division team. They really struggle to score more than 1 goal and are very shaky in defense.
On the other hand, Real Madrid also has 3 wins 1 draw and 1 loss in their last 5 but the wins came against teams like Valencia and Atheletic Bilbao. Before the draw against Cadiz, Real had 10 straight wins. So both their form and quality this season are way above that of Barcelona.
These teams faced each other on the league where Real easily won the game despite the score might not show that. I believe Ancelotti will want to win his first trophy back at Real and will push his guys to beat Barcelona today. Theres really not much to be said about Real being better. I would have loved to bet on Real to go through as I’m sure they will but the odds were just short for the LIIC. Nevertheless, they should win this game within the 90 minutes anyway.
