With a break in LIIC this week, let's take a look at the strongest shooting starting lineups in basketball since November 18th. These percentages of Averages of JUST starting players, in order of Team, to help identify who the strongest starting core is. This is NOT enough information to make wagering decisions on, but should provide worthwhile insight into which teams are hot and which ones are not when it comes to shooting.
Two Point Percentage
Three Point Percentage
Free Throw Percentage
True Shooting Percentage
San Antonio and Oklahoma are in a battle for the 'worst shooting team' in the league over the last 10 days of games. While Detroit and Orlando fall below them in True Shooting %, out of the 4 teams Detroit are the strongest Free Throw shooters, San Antonio barely edges the other 3 out in two point shooting %, OKC is vastly above the rest in 3-point shooting, but with both OKC and SA starters shooting 40% (or less) from the line in 10 days...well....that's terrible. For me, seeing how much less San Antonio's 3-pt shooting is than the rest of the league, and being last in free throw %, leads me to pick them as the league's worst shooting team at the moment.
With the exception of Free Throws, Utah finds themselves in the Top Half of the league in the other stats and leading the way for True Shooting %. Across the board, Milwuakee appears to be the best percentage shooting team in my opinion (when looking at all categories). 8th for Two Point %, their worst ranking out of these 4 stats, 2nd for Three Point %, 5th in FT %, and 5th in overall True Shooting %. That being said, it's very important to note that their opponents during this stretch were OKC, Orlando, Orlando again, and Detroit; followed by Denver and an impressive road victory in Indiana. I just think those first 4 games might be boosting numbers a bit.
Hope this data helps give you some insight into the league's status right now, leave me your thoughts down below and let me know what other content you want to see this week!

I meant to include this in my post, but will write here:
A good 'next step' to provide more context to the data I've provided, is to look at two point attempts and made, three point attempts and made, and free throw attempts and made. For instance, a team with a higher than average percentage may look good on the surface, but if they only attempt half as many as comparable teams then it is misleading.
To do this with the same filters that I am using, do the following:
1) Pine-sports.com --> Explore --> Player Stats --> Visualize
2) Query (match exactly): Date >= '11-18-2021' and Player - Starter == 'Y'
3) Set X to equal Team, Y to equal 'Player - Offense - Two Points Made' and 'Player - Offense - Two Points Attempts' and Aggregate to equal Mean
4) Set Top to equal 50 to sort from best to worst and the category you want to sort by in the 'sort' dropdown.
Now you're getting some context to those percentages, go ahead and save those charts and go make a post with what you've found by hitting the '+' icon in the top right!!
