My third pick of the week is yet another Padres spread against the Diamondbacks tonight. The Padres haven't been dominant against the D-backs this year as I stated in my post last week, but they have done a pretty good job of covering the spread. In fact, their last two games against the D-backs they were able to cover the spread of -1.5. Tonight, I have confidence in San Diego to cover again because they are simply the better team, as well as the fact that Yu Darvish is on the mound.
Also, the Padres have scored over ten runs against the Diamondbacks on multiple occasions this season, so I'm hoping the offense can come up big again tonight. The Padres have a great record, but they are still hunting and battling for a playoff spot in the National League. Arizona can play spoilers, but I think the will of the Padres to make the playoffs is much stronger than anything that the Diamondbacks can put forth.
