In hopes of repeating as LIIC champion I''m starting the week off the same way I started the last, by taking the Yankees. The Yanks play the sub par Royals in Kansas City tonight, with Jameson Taillon on the mound. Taillon has been fantastic for the Yankees recently. in The month of July he went 4-0 with a 1.16 ERA and 25 strikeouts in route to winning AL pitcher of the month. I have confidence that his stellar pitching will continue tonight to power the Yankees to the win.
Now my chart will focus on the Yankees bats, just like it did last week. It's a small sample size considering these two teams have only played one series against each other this year, but the chart simply shows the number of runs scored by the Yankees in each game against the Royals.
five, six, and eight runs are definitely above average totals, which allowed the Yankees to take two out of three games in their first series. It's also worth mentioning the Yankees are most certainly on a mission to snag a wild card spot and make the playoffs, so they'll be playing with a lot of fire for the rest of the season.
