For my fifth and final pick in this week's LIIC I'm taking the White Sox to just catch a W against the cross town rival Cubs.
It's no secret the Cubbies are heavily depleted after the trade deadline. They decided to be sellers, shipping away three of their best bats in Baez, Rizzo, and Bryant, along with trading relief pitchers Tepera and Kimbrel. Zach Davies will also be taking the mound for the Cubs, so I'm hoping is 4..79 ERA holds true here so the White Sox can tack on some early runs.
The White Sox seem to be the obvious pick here for Sunday Night Baseball. They're the much better team who is still playing for the top spot in the American League. I'm hoping the Sox have nore gas in the tank to give me a solid finish to this week.
