Yesterday got me a much needed win (which brings me to 1-2 this week).  Lopez was pulled after 2 innings with just two strikeouts.  Today, I was really liking the under for Joe Musgrove strikeouts, but @VivaLasVegas beat me to the punch.  I'm going to join the bandwagon and go with the complementary bet, the over for hits allowed, currently set at 4.5 (-140).

Yesterday, I found good success looking at pitchers' strikeouts, innings pitched, and hits allowed together to detect some trends that you may not see if you just viewed these charts individually.  Here's a screenshot of how I do it on Explore:

Just like yesterday with Lopez, today I saw a clear combined trend, fewer strikeouts, and more hits allowed since early June (hmm...).  Here's a closer look at the data.

Strikeouts

Innings Pitched

Hits Allowed

I really like @VivaLasVegas's strikeout pick and will likely bet that myself today, but for the LIIC, I'm going to go with hits allowed.  He's allowed more than 4.5 hits in each of the last 4 games, and you can see the trendline shooting up.

In addition to that, Colorado tends to get more hits than your average team.

Given all this, I'm liking the over here.

Wish me luck!
