We've got another hit parlay in hopes to try and break this curse of players not showing up when I write an article over them. This time I'm not going with two guys are even the best hitters on their team but they do their job by getting on base plenty of the times they're at bat.
We've got JP Crawford facing Domingo German tonight. He's struggled in his 4 at bats vs Domingo. However, this season versus right handed pitchers, J.P is averaging a .295 batting average with a .867 on base plus slugging rate. He's also striking out at a low 15.9% rate versus right handed pitchers. Domingo is striking out right handed batters 25.6% but only left handed batters at an 18.6% rate. J.P is averaging a .294 batting average on balls in play and has a hit in 16 of his last 20 games. I wanted to go with Julio Rodriguez but with the way German is controlling the plate versus righties and Julio averaging a 24% strikeout rate versus right handed pitchers, I wasn't completely sold.
Mookie Betts is my other angle for this hit parlay tonight. He's only had a hit in 3 of his last 5 games but he's managed to grab a hit 15 of his last 20 games. He's grabbed a hit in 10 straight games versus teams with a losing record and tonight he faces the Washington Nationals. Mookie is averaging a .229 ISO and a .348 weighted on-base average versus right handed pitchers this season. He faces Trevor Williams tonight, who has allowed a .296 weighted on-base average and a .247 ISO this season versus right handed batters. He's allowed a 4.32 ERA and a 1.24 walks and hits per inning pitched. Small sample size but same thing with JP, Mookie hasn't gotten off to the best start against Trevor but I expect some positive input into that history tonight.
