Entree (1u) - Lourdes Gurriel Jr & Seiya Suzuki 1+ Hit (+101 MGM)

Lourdes Gurriel has been a great addition to the Diamondbacks. He's had a hit in 18 of his last 20 games, including 6 games with 2 or more hits. He faces Garrett Whitlock and the Boston Red Sox tonight. Whitlock is 1-2 with a 6.19 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Gurriel is a righty but he's averaging a .293 batting average with a .959 on base plus slugging rate. He's also recorded 8 home runs with 22 RBIs. Along with those hitting stats, he's only striking out at an 18.1% rate to right handed pitchers. He's the only player who has much history versus Whitlock since 2018. He's had 5 at bats and is averaging a .400 batting average and a .800 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Seiya is a slugger but he's been so consistent with getting on base for the Cubs this season. He's had a hit in 78% of games this season and has recorded a hit in 16 of his last 20 games. He faces Brandon Williamson, who played in the Reds 6-5 win over the Cardinals on May 23rd. He allowed 4 hits, 4 walks, and 4 runs, in 4.1 innings in that game. Putting that into perspective, over his last 10 innings pitched, he's allowing a 3.6 ERA and a 1.2 WHIP. There is no history between these two players but this season on 35 at bats, Suzuki is averaging a .400 batting average with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. He's recording a 1.004 on-base plus slugging rate and surprisingly enough for him, he's only striking out 20.5% of the time when facing a lefty. Cubs got embarrassed yesterday versus the Reds and should look to have a better offensive showing after a no-hitter was going through 7 innings.

Let's hope our luck turns around as Yoshida last night was one of two players to not get a hit for the Red Sox and was struck out 3 times, which is unusual for him. Best of luck!
