Entrée (1u) - LeBron James OVER 9.5 Rebounds (-104 FanDuel)

This recent outburst of rebound totals from LeBron James may come as a surprise to many people but I think it has a lot more to do with the atmosphere of the playoffs and the teams he is facing over LeBron's ability to rebound the basketball. He just went 6 games in with the Memphis Grizzlies. That's a team who is top 10 in the NBA in pace and finished the regular season 11th in most 3pt shots attempted per game. Throughout the first 2 rounds of the playoffs, the Lakers are 5th in pace and the Golden State Warriors are 2nd. This is obvious but Golden State leads the league in 3pt attempts per game at around 43.

This benefits LeBron more than AD a bit because AD was tasked with facing Looney and battling him on the boards. Game 1 was scrappy and it saw a ton of easy looks missed that lead to shorter rebounds. Golden State made 21 threes on 56 attempts, which just blows out their regular season average of 43. I expect that to continue as it's what makes the Warriors who they are. LeBron has averaged 11.1 rebounds in the 7 playoff games so far with 17.9 potential rebounds. Anthony Davis is above him with 15 rebounds on 24.4 potential rebounds but what is interesting about Davis is that his average is sparked by high rebound games and not consistent over the span of those 7 games. He's had 23, 19, and 17 rebounds in games and then had 9, 11, and 12 in some games as well. LeBron is a bit different because he has come down with at least 10 rebounds in 5 of his last 7 games.

Another reason why I like LeBron on the glass more tonight is due to his rebound distance being 5.8 feet, which is 1.6 higher than Anthony Davis's. More three point shots should lead to longer rebounds, which will favor LeBron 10 times out of 10. LeBron has also gone over 10+ rebounds in 5 of his last 6 games versus the Warriors. Davis is only averaging 11.9 rebounds in his last 7 games versus the Warriors and that's factoring in his Game 1 performance of 23 rebounds.

I expect LeBron to be crashing the glass tonight and to continue his floor general style of play to help try to lead the Lakers to a Game 2 victory in Golden State and go back to Los Angeles with a 2-0 series lead on the defending champs! Let me know your thoughts on the play and what you think tonight's result will be!
