Entrée (1u) - Toronto Blue Jays OVER 2.5 F5 Team Total (+100 @ DraftKings)

This team has too much pop in their bats to continue playing offense like they have to start this 2023 MLB season. They're only averaging 2.2 runs in their first 5 innings through 5 games this season but they've just not had balls hit their way. The other day when facing Bubic, this Blue Jays team had bases loaded with no outs and were only able to get 1 run from that sequence due to allowing a double play and then a ground out to second to finish the inning. Situations like that, we should start to see them converting them into more runs as the season goes on.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr is DUE for something big and it could be tonight. Greinke throws a lot of pitches inside the zone and Vlad only has one extra base hit this season but is batting fairly well with 5 hits on 18 at-bats. He's batting .250 versus Greinke with 3 singles and 2 strikeouts on 12 plate appearances.

The Blue Jays are projected to start 6 right-handed batters and 3 left-handers. Oddly enough, Greinke allowed a .286 batting average to both lefties and righties to end last season. In his one start this season versus the Twins, he only allowed 2 runs but allowed 6 hits and then last season versus the Blue Jays, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits allowed. He will see majority of batters being right-handed tonight and in his start, he faced 13 righties and allowed 5 hits with only one strikeout. The batting average comes out to be .417, which is impressive but only based off one start this season. The Blue Jays will be rocking out righties, who can hit the ball well versus Greinke's top pitch choices. Bichette and Springer with a .395 weighted on-base average or higher versus the curveball. Kirk, Vlad, and Springer all hit the 4-seam really well and then Bichette and Chapman hit the changeup really well.

The Blue Jays were 3rd in both weighted runs created and on-base percentage last season vs right handed pitchers. In the last 30 days, so dating back to last season and adding in the start to this season, they're ranked 5th in both those categories. Greinke also produces one of the lowest strikeout rates for a pitcher in the MLB. He's 2nd percentile in strikeouts per inning, 8th percentile in swinging strike percentage, and 17th percentile in called strike plus whiff rate. I can't guarantee runs will be scored but the chances will be there for the Blue Jays and that's all we can ask for!
