1u - CJ McCollum O 2.5 3PM (-130, DK)

With so many good shooters on the floor in a matchup like this, I could have put my money on Steph, Klay, or even Trey Murphy, who made 11 three pointers a couple nights ago. However, I think that CJ has a big night tonight and this line is a little too low for his standards. I would say it's tough to beat the splash brothers at their own game, but it's really not. The Warriors allow the 2nd most 3PM and the 5th highest 3P% in their L10 games.

The Warriors have had a shaky defense all season, but their biggest weakness, ironically, comes from behind the arc. As of late Golden State has struggled to keep shooters in check, and teams know this. Many players, especially PG, have been letting it fly recently. Luka Doncic and Kevin Porter Jr. both put up 10 3PA; Paul George posted 9 3PA,; and Bogdan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, ad Tyrese Maxey all shot 8 times from behind the arc. If CJ McCollum continues this trend and shoots at least 8 times, he is way to good of a shooter to miss this line.

In his last 10 games, CJ has averaged 7.0 3PA, which is just under the 8 that we really want from him tonight. A bad GSW defense should give him plenty of opportunities to get that extra attempt up. In those same 10 games, he has shot an outstanding 45.7% from behind the arc. GSW opponents are averaging 37 3PA in their last 10 games. CJ McCollum avg 7.3 3PA and his team avg 30.6 3PA. If you do the math, that means that CJ takes 24% of his teams total 3 pointers. If you then account for how often teams shoot threes vs Golden State, you would expect CJ to shoot the ball 8.8 times this game. If you then finally account for how well CJ has been shooting as of late, we can predict that Cj should make 4 three pointers tonight, and remember, we only need him to make 3, which he has done in 8 of his L10 games.

This line is just too low for a shooter like McCollum against a defense as perfect for the situation as Golden State is. I think that the line probably should have been 3.5, but thats the great thing about sports. Nothing is how it seems and for all we know CJ could go 0-7 or 1-8 or something like that. This bet isn't guaranteed, but I have a good feeling that McCollum can go out there and splash it up as he lines up across from the splash brothers themselves.
