Pick 3: C. McCollum o20.5 points (-120)

This is open now at DraftKings. Most other books at 21.5.

Backing guards against Golden State is never a bad idea. McCollum is especially valuable here for bettors, as he tends to perform as expected in these spots. When he goes against teams that play poor defense vs guards, he usually scores more than his average.

In a paced up spot vs Golden State, I expect the same to be true tonight. These two teams matched up on 3/3 and McCollum put up 25 points while shooting just 8-21 from the field. We can expect to see at least a little bit better shooting night from McCollum as he averages around 44% from the field. Additionally, Golden State is allowing the 5th most points to PGs this season, so that boosts McCollum's expectation a bit.

I also don't mind the fact that the Pelicans are on the second game of a double header. I actually like it in this situation. McCollum plays well in these spots. On game 2s of double-headers this season, McCollum is averaging 20.4 points per game, and has hit this line in his last three outings on 0 days rest. He is 5/8 total on the season in this situation, with one of those misses coming in a brutal matchup vs Memphis.

A game I'm looking at in particular is the game vs the Kings on 2/5 this year. The Kings share a similar profile to the Warriors, and this game was also game 2 of a double-header for the Pelicans. McCollum put up 24 points in this game in just 23 minutes, before the Pelicans blew out the Kings by nearly 30 points.

This is promising for our bet as we are unlikely to see a blowout tonight, and the rest of the script should be pretty similar to that of the Kings. Lots of shots, little defense from GSW.
