1u - Jayden Ivey O 23.5 pts+ast (-115, DK)

The Bucks and Pistons are playing their 4th game of the season tonight, and the pistons stars are going to have to play their best as they try not to get swept on the season. Cade Cunningham should have the ball in his hands a - oh wait. He's on the injury report? Well then Bojan Bogdanovic is set to have a big night -excuse me? Also injured? Well who isn't injured on that team. Jayden Ivey. Jayden Ivey is quite literally the only playmaker/scorer left on this decrepit Pistons team. Even though they have some decent contributors like Killian Hayes and James Wiseman, Jayden Ivey will be the focal point of this offense.

Jayden Ivey in his last 7 games has average a whopping 34.2 min, and had a 27.7% usage rate, which is very high. On top of that he has averaged 15 FGA, but he hasn't even been shooting well, shooting 31% fromm the field. I do expect some regression back to his season average of 41.2%. If Ivey takes his avg 15 FGA at 40% tonight, he should make around 6 shots, and that's not even accounting for the fact that some of those shots could be 3 pointers and Milwaukee allows the 5th most free throws L3 games. Ivey over his last 7 games has averaged 1.9 3 pointers, making at least 2 in 6 of 7 games, and has averaged 4 free throws made, making 4+ in 5 of 7 games. Of course, all of this relies on Ivey's FG% coming up to around 40, but I think this is completely possible.

On the season, the bucks have been a very good defense, as most people expected, allowing the 9th least points and the 4th least assists. However, it feels like they have been letting up as of recently, allowing 12th most points and 6th most assists L7. In a game that has a spread of 17.5, not many people think that the Pistons have a chance in this one. And neither do I, but the Bucks probably think this way too.  don't think they will be playing their most stifling defense in a game that they should win easily and isn't necessarily a must-win. You can see this in their last game against the Pistons where they won 150-130. They still won without breaking a sweat, but they allowed the Pistons to score 130 on them, which is way more than usual for this defense. Additionally, if it does become a blowout, Ivey will still get his minutes. He is a big part of this Detroit future and they will want to get this rook plenty of game experience.

Over his last 7 games, Ivey has averaged 7.9 ast, never posting less than 5. The difference between the pts and pts+ast lines was 6, so we only need him to get 6 to make this pts+ast line worthwhile, which he did in 5 of those 7 games. Killian Hayes will have plenty of his own assist opportunities, as he is averaging 8.9 per game, but remember, the Bucks in their last 7 games are allowing the 6th most assists in the league. I think there is plenty of room for both guys to get their fair share of assists. Ivey in his last game against the Bucks dished out 11 assists, scoring a double double.

This is Ivey's first game against Milwaukee without both Cade and Bogdanovic, and for the Pistons to put up any decent amount of points, he will have to be involved, whether that is putting the ball in the basket directly or creating chances for his teammates. At the end of the day, the Pistons have no one else. It has to be Ivey. His shooting numbers have been down lately, but against a Bucks defense that won't be full throttle, this is the perfect chance for him to have a bounce back game. Tonight we are looking for execution via volume from a talented rookie thrust into a big role.
