Pick#6: MEM/LAL game total under 230.5(-110)

The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies at the FedExForum on Monday night with a 29-32 record, hoping to overcome the Grizzlies' 36-23 record. Unfortunately, the Lakers will be without the services of two of their key offensive players, LeBron James and DeAngelo Russel, both of whom are out with injuries.

Both teams over the last 2 weeks have combined to allow 210?5 points per game which is well under the 230.5 mark.

Defensively, the Lakers are also a formidable team, ranked in the top six of the NBA in free throw prevention (21.7 attempts per game), 3-point defense (34.7%), and field goal percentage allowed (47.0%).

On the other side of the court, the Memphis Grizzlies are one of the best defensive teams in the league, boasting the No. 2 defensive rating in the NBA (109.9 points per 100 possessions). The Grizzlies also lead the NBA in field goal percentage allowed (44.8%) and 2-point percentage (51.1%), and are in the top six of the NBA in points allowed in the paint (46.9 per game), turnovers created (14.2 per game), steals (8.4 per game), and blocked shots (6.0 per game).

Given the Lakers injuries to 2 key players, and both teams defensive abilities, this game total is way too high and should go way under.
